Relationship Advice For Women: Why Your Man Can't Love You If You Respect Him All The Time

This relationship advice for women is useful if you think that you are too lenient and soft on your man. Now, if you love your man, that's because you respect him too. Love and respect always go hand in hand. This love and respect is meaningless if he doesn't love and respect you back. The thing with love and respect is that they are borne from each other, i.e. if you respect someone, they will respect you back. However, people have set amounts of love and respect they can give and if there is no balance, your man might not be able to love you as much as you loved him. Here's how by respecting him less, you'll get more love from him.

1. Make Him Work For It

Respect is something that has to be earned. If you simply doled out your respect to him and he didn't have to do much, then he won't value your respect. If he was mean, dishonest or impatient with you and you still respected him, he will respect it less.

Your respect should always be valued highly by him. If he's being an idiot, let him know that he's an idiot. It's not good to reinforce his bad behaviour by showing him that you still respect him even though he's not treating you with respect.

2. He's Not Perfect

Some women will find it hard to treat their man with less respect, since they are generally respectful people. This may come as a result of an upbringing where respect is a norm (particularly prevalent in Asian cultures). In a modern marriage however, respect is a perpetual arms race.

Just forget that your man is your man for a while and think of him as someone you don't know. Would you respect someone who swore at you, was angry or displeased when you did something that didn't make him happy? No? Then why should it be any different with him?

3. Give Him A Taste Of His Own Medicine

Now obviously you don't want to start an argumentative culture with your man. This will be detrimental to your relationship. What I do recommend is fighting back and taking away your respect from your man if he doesn't value it.

If he's the man that you married, he should respect you. He should be sorry if he is unreasonably unkind and should have to re-earn your trust, respect and love.

This relationship advice for women is something that is relevant to everyone out there. Regardless of whether your relationship is romantic or professional, long-term or short-term, make sure that people value the respect they give you. In a marriage, if respect isn't valued by the man, he won't be able to love you.
